COMPLETE GUITAR COURSE

I have challenged many people that I can teach them to play the piano beautifully in just 15 minutes by learning my piano / keyboard patterns (If they are taking a personal lesson from me) (And I have never failed as long as I am personally there to direct them).  However, you can't do that with the guitar.  Actually, the guitar is more difficult to play and learn than the piano, because with the guitar you have to press down on the string at the correct area of the fret to produce a tone.  If you are off just a little bit, the tone will not be there.  You will either get a buzz or a muffled sound.  So, it takes a great deal of precision to produce tones on a guitar neck.  On the other hand, anybody can produce a tone on a piano.  All you have to do is to press down on a white or black key.  So, there is a greater physical challenge in actually playing the guitar.  But, most people are under the illusion that playing the guitar is easy to do because they see so many people on TV, in the movies, or pictures of people in magazines playing guitar.  Not true.  It takes dedication to learn how to play the guitar.

It really takes about one year to learn how to play the guitar decently.  There is no way I am going to teach you how to play the guitar in 15 minutes like I can with my keyboard / piano patterns.  It takes months just to master the "barre" chords.  Try playing an F major barre chord on the guitar, if it's your first try at it, you could work all day long trying to play it and you will never get it.  It takes time, effort, practice, diligence, persistence, and a lot of sore finger tips to master that F major barre chord.

My guitar book, The Complete Guitar Course, is designed to show you all the materials that you need to know in order to play the guitar well.  The book uses graphics and musical notation to show you how to play 60 different finger picking styles and strums.  So, if you cannot read music, you can still learn from my book because I use graphics to show you how to play the strings and frets.  If you want to learn how to read music, the book will also do that for you.  The book will help you to learn how to read music because I use graphics to show you where to put your finger on the guitar neck in order to produce any given note.  You will learn how to COUNT music.  The book will teach you all the chords that you need to know to play all the popular songs.  The book even goes into the "bass/melody" style that was made so popular by Chet Atkins.  Chet would play a lot of his songs by having his thumb to play the 5th - 4th - 6th - 4th string sequence and at the same time play the melody of the song on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd strings of the guitar using his index, middle finger, and ring finger.  My book will teach you how to do that.  You can't find this kind of information in your typical commercial music book that you find in the music stores.  I challenge you, go into a music store and ask them if they have a book that will teach you how to play the guitar the way Chet Atkins played.

Below is a picture of some of the graphics that I use to teach you how to use finger picking styles that all of the famous folk singers and classical guitar players have used over the years.

The book not only teaches you how to do finger picking styles, but it also teaches you how to strum the guitar.  You will learn rhythmic strums that are used by all the famous rock stars, and country and western guitarists.  Again, these finger picking styles and strums have patterns.  However, to play them is a lot more challenging physically on the guitar as compared to playing patterns on the piano.  Playing patterns is easy on the piano because you don't have  to press your sensitive finger tips down hard on a metal string.  Listen, I'll tell you, you start playing the guitar and you are going to get some sore fingers, especially, if you have a guitar that has steel strings.  And, it is even worse if the action on your strings is to high off the neck.  Listen, if you have high action on a set of guitar strings, just forget it, you are not going to be able to play the thing.  Not even I, or any professional guitar player is going to be able to play the thing.  You see, the thing about playing the guitar is that there are a lot of poor quality guitars out there in people's homes and garages.  To them they just see a guitar. Most of these guitars have warped necks, high string action, old rusty metal strings, and a really poor sound box.  They're a piece of junk.  Nobody can play them.  Yeah, they look like a guitar, but I'll tell you, they only look like a guitar.  You see, a real guitar has great string action, a beautiful tone, and is easy to play.  If you have a decent guitar then you can learn to play the guitar.  If you have a piece of junk, you will never learn to play the guitar no matter how hard you try.  The guitar itself will make or break you.

This guitar book will also teach you how to play a lot of rock and jazz runs, fill-ins, and adlibs.  You don't have to read music to do this.  The guitar book has graphics for you to follow.  Again, it's all about PATTERN.  Check out these "rock & roll" runs in graphic form:

You can buy the book from me for a price of $9.  However, you need to send an additional $4 to cover the postage, shipping, and handling.  But, I really recommend that you purchase the audio cassette tape that goes with the book.  There are three packages for audio cassette tapes.  There is the one audio cassette tape that plays the highlights of the book only.  Then there is the two cassette series that spends greater detail on explaining the contents of the book to you.  And there is the three cassette series that goes into great depth in the art of playing the guitar.  So, here are your options below:
