Jehovah Jireh

A lot of Jewish sounding praise and worship songs such as Jehovah Jireh are played in the key of Em, which would consist of these 3 basic chords the I, IV, and V:  Em - Am - B7.

However, a lot of these songs in the key of Em also use C major, G major, and D major.  You can find the words and chords to these songs on the internet by typing in keywords into a search engine such as google.  Just type in the name of the song followed by what you want such as "midi" - "lyrics" - "chords".

Listen to a chord progression in the key of Em.  I'll demonstrate this chord progression using various accompaniment patterns.  The primary pattern you will hear is the basic ballad pattern, followed by the ASCENDING ballad pattern, left hand chord tremolo linked to ascending glissando, bass run from C major chord to D major chord, double chord runs.

You can even print out this generic chord progression and practice it.  You might even try to make up your own Jewish sounding praise and worship melody as you sing along or hum along with this generic chord progression.  By the way, all chord progressions are public domain and are not copyrightable.  Even the names of songs are not copyrightable.  However melody lines and lyrics are copyrightable.

The phrase Jehovah Jireh basically means the God That Provides.  I read in the newspaper the other day, and I also heard this testimony on James Dobson's Focus On The Family Radio Program, about the pastor in Sri Lanka who saved his life, 26 orphans, and his staff from the tsunami.  His name is Dayalan Sanders and he manages an orphans home in Sri Lanka right on the beach front in Navalady, Sri Lanka.  He woke up Sunday morning and was told by his wife to come look at the ocean.  When he saw that the ocean was rising up into a large wave heading for the land, he yelled for all of the children to run to the lagoon side and to get into the boat.  This would normally take 20 minutes to accomplish, but for some reason everybody made it into the boat within 3 minutes.  Normally it takes many pulls on the rope to get the engine started on the boat, but for some reason, the engine started up on the first pull of the rope.  The staff members in the boat wanted to try and outrun the wave, but pastor Sanders said "no", we must get on top of this wave, so he told his staff to run the boat full speed ahead directly into the wave.  As they met the wave head on, the boat started to flip backwards at 45 degree angle.  Pastor Sanders said that a scripture popped into his mind, and he pointed his hand at the wave and commanded the wave "in the name of Jesus to allow them to pass through the waters".  That's exactly what happened, all onboard were saved just like when Jesus calmed the waters of the sea of Galilee when the disciples were in great fear of drowning.  This supernatural event is very similar to the time when Moses thrust his rod out over the Red Sea and commanded the waters to part so that the children of Israel could pass through.

I recommend that you read the full account and verification of this miracle by going over to these links:

This is why it is good to memorize the scriptures, because when a crisis does arise God can bring that Word up from within you and you can speak that WORD as God gives you inspiration to speak the WORD, and the Bible says that God honors His word above His Name.  But, you do not need a crisis to speak the WORD in your day to day life.  You can stand on God's promises everyday, and speak those promises everyday.  Jesus said that you can speak to the Mountain and it will be removed.  But, my interpretation here, and I could be wrong, is that God first needs to give you the WORDS or the Scripture to speak.  In other words, if you just randomly look at a mountain and say, "Mountian be removed" and these words are coming from your own imagination or from your own desires then nothing will happen.  But, if God puts those words into your mind and into your mouth and God is prompting you to say, "Mountain be removed" then I believe the mountain will be removed.  But, for 99.99 percent of us there is not a need from God's viewpoint for a certain physical mountain to be removed.  Yes, maybe some time in the future such a crisis will arise and there will be a need for a certain physical mountain to be removed and God will prompt someone to speak toward that mountain.  And of course, we all have psychological, and personal mountains that need to be removed and God can remove them from our lives as we get inspiration from Him to speak against those mountains which occur such as sickness, financial distress, safety, and direction for our lives.

We have to look to God for inspiration when to speak the WORD.  Is God telling us to speak the WORD about a certain situation, or is it our own desires?  So, here's the bottom line....ask God everyday what scripture you should stand on for this day.  Ask God what scripture WORD that he wants you to speak today to whatever situation you find yourself in.  Let God give you the WORD.   Of course, you get that Rhema (Living Word) or Word by going to God in prayer.

That was basically the case with Moses, God gave him the inspiration to thrust his rod toward the Red Sea and to command the waters to open up.  God only gives you a miracle when you really need one.  He doesn't pass out miracles like they were "play things" or for our amusement.  The Pharisees asked Jesus to perform a miracle so that they could see one just for the sake of seeing one.  Jesus turned them down.  When Jesus went before Herod during his trial, Herod asked Jesus to perform a miracle so that he could see one and be amused by it.  Again, Jesus turned him down.  Miracles take place when there is a real spiritual and human need, usually during a crisis situation.  Such is the case with Dayalan Sanders when God gave him the scripture to speak and the command to speak to the tsunami wave.  Pastor Sanders did not plan to do this.  It all happened to him in a split second of time.

We need to memorize scripture, sing scripture, and ask God daily what scripture or  WORD we should stand on today in order to see Him move in our lives.  Get the specific Word from God, not from your own desires or imagination, and you will see inspiring things happening in your life and in the lives of those around you.
