Piano Lesson #2 is book number two out of a twenty book series that is designed for beginning piano students.

In this 17 page book I instruct you in the previous 5 notes that you had in book one, but I add a 6th note in this book.  Again, I present you with several written graphic exercises that aid you in memorizing the notes which increases your ability to read music notation.  Many of the songs in this book are written in very large note heads which is excellent for children and beginners.  Click onto Page 7 of the book to see an example.

Most people have a very easy time counting whole notes, half notes, and quarter notes, but they run into a lot of difficulty in counting 8th notes.  The book has several graphics that help you to understand the concept of keeping proper rhythm and timing when playing 8th notes.  I also demonstrate this on the DVD.

Place your portable DVD player or laptop computer on top of your piano and I will take you step by step through this book as you watch me play the exercises in the book and as I give detailed information about counting and music theory.   

I spend a lot of time on the fundamentals in this book.  I take you inch by inch so that you have no frustration.  Most piano books try to take all of the piano concepts I have put into these 20 books and try to cram them into a 34 page book.  The problem with that kind of approach is that there are wide gaps of knowledge steps left out from page to page.  With my method, there is no pain, there is no frustration, each simple step leads to the next simple step.  Plus, watching the DVD while you sit at the piano is like having me right there at your side teaching you a private piano lesson in the comfort of your own home.
