I have just completed a wonderful DVD series where I show you in slow detail how to play Moonlight Sonata measure by measure. This song is very long song and consists of 69 measures. In order to memorize this song, the best way to learn it is simply by working on 1 measure each day. Do not go beyond 1 measures per day, otherwise you do not allow your brain to get a strong fix on specific measures. If you follow my advice, at the end of 2 months you will play this song flawlessly and from total memory.
In these DVD's I show you all the patterns of the song. Once you see the patterns then memorizing it becomes really easy. I explain to you why you need to see the numerical patterns in the various chord runs. If you understand that in 4 "back to back" chord runs that each chord run has only 12 notes, then your brain can logically memorize these tedious chord runs a lot easier than if you tried to memorize them from rote or total recall. Also, I show you the geometric design of each chord run, and this makes it even easier for your brain to memorize these tough arpeggio runs. The trick to memory is to have memory pegs of the object you are trying to memorize. So, on these chord runs I teach you the numerical sequence, the chord geometric design, and the skipping pattern of the notes in the arpeggio. All of these memory pegs make it so much easier to memorize.
