Hi, Welcome to my flute website.  My name is John Axsom, all around music guy.  I play piano, guitar, banjo, flute, clarinet, trumpet, and saxophone.  Below are some links that you need to check out if you have no idea about how to play the flute.  The first things you have to learn are:
1.  How To Hold The Flute

2.  How to Create A Flute Embouchure With Your Lips

Watch college professor Nina Perlove, PhD, explain how to get a good tone on your flute.  In my opinion she is the best flute teacher in the world.  Not only is she one of the best flute players in the world, but she knows how to communicate and to teach.  She knows how to make the complicated understandable.

3. Basic Fingerings Over The Flute Holes
4.  How To Read Music
5.  How To Count Music

Watch Nina explain to you how to breathe properly to play long passages of music on the flute.

Watch Nina explain to you how to do double tonguing and triple tonguing.  This concepts is called "articulation".

Try this technique as presented by Nina in order to help you to open up your throat and produce a stronger tone.  She calls it singing as you play the flute.  I call this the "GROWL".

Once you learn the above techniques, you are ready to start having some fun.  And now you can start playing by clicking on the song links below.
